Applications are currently closed and will open for Summer 2026 Residencies in the fall of 2025. Follow our Instagram, subscribe to our newsletter, or check back regularly for updates.
Artists are expected to live and engage respectfully with the campus and Valley-wide community, and are asked to donate one work to the Center. Pieces, either made during the residency or related to the work done here, are due to the Center by one year from the end date of the residency. Artists may also be asked to present a talk or workshop to our community and students.
The residency is free of cost, and includes accommodations and a studio space on campus. More details about the Artist's Cabin and Studio are located on our Facilities page.
Melody Taft recently provided a generous grant allowing us to provide dinner to all Artists-in-Residence. Artists are responsible for their other meals, which an be prepared in the Artist's Cabin kitchen.
Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate visitors or pets due to the remote nature of our campus.
Applications for the 2026 Residency will open in fall 2025. Artists will be asked to submit a project proposal [length?] and a work sample [length?]
Artists are housed in a rustic Artist's Cabin with an adjacent working Studio. More details can be found on our Facilities page.
It depends! Center Staff will certainly be around, and depending on the time of the season, there may also be students, Faculty Fellows, or other groups working on campus. The Artist-in-Residence has exclusive access to their space and studio, so while other activity may be going on, the studio and cabin will be reserved for the artist.

Yes! We've had incredible musicians serve as Artists-in-Residence in the past and always welcome applications from artists of all kinds.
Yes!
Due to the nature of our facility, no equipment is provided beyond the basic furniture in the studio. Artists must provide their own materials, and we are unable to provide equipment. Artists are welcome to bring whatever materials are needed with them.
